Purpose of Job: Managing and execution of all welding activities around the rig and the camp area. Key Tasks • Performs all welding work on piping, machinery and construction/ Rig Site. • Assists Chief Mechanic in planning and execution of minor re-building or new construction work/Rig Site. • Keep workshop clean and tidy with all tools and equipment correctly stored. • Keep workshop free of non-essential combustible substances. • Keeps sufficient welding/cutting consumables in stock and initiates orders when necessary. • Keep fire fighting equipment adequate and in place. • Responsible to look after his equipment, and delivers according to the safety rules. • Performs any job requested by the Senior Rig Mechanic/Tool Pusher as long as the job is within his competence. Safety: • Safety is a major responsibility. Each individual member of the company should accept the responsibility to ensure safe working in his respective area. • Must apply company safety regulations. • Must report to the Senior Rig Mechanic or Toolpusher all the potential hazards and abnormal situations. • Must have an understanding of the Permit to Work System with respect to Hot Work and Confined Space. • Attend safety drills, safety meetings, TBT, involve in Job Safety Analysis and Implementation of the tasks of the QA/HSE. • Ensure that all work is carried out to the requirements of the Permit-to-work system and in compliance with Safety Procedures in force, initiates PTW as necessary within their discipline and ensures all safety precautions are carried out • Minimum Experience: Minimum 3-year experience Technical Skills: 3G Welding or equivalent in welding • Minimum Qualification: Diploma / Technical Skills
