The Senior Tunnel Construction Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of bored tunnels and underground cavern works within the TTT program. They provide technical leadership and construction oversight, ensuring all underground activities are executed in line with client standards for safety, quality, and digital delivery. The role involves working closely with the PMC/client team to maintain program, cost, and operational objectives. Responsibilities: • Provide technical leadership and construction oversight for bored tunnels and underground cavern works. • Ensure alignment with client's standards for safety, quality, sustainability, and digital delivery. • Maintain program, cost, and operational objectives throughout the underground works lifecycle. • Oversee TBM excavation, cavern construction, breakthrough, decommissioning, and site demobilization. • Work closely with the PMC/client team, design consultants, and construction contractors. • Manage contractor governance and construction risk. • Coordinate temporary works and demobilization processes. • Ensure environmental compliance in large-scale projects. • Stay updated with ITA guidelines, Saudi Arabia Codes, Eurocodes, and NEOM requirements. Qualifications: • Bachelors' degree in Civil, Mining, or Tunnelling Engineering. • Minimum 15 years of experience in bored tunnel and underground cavern construction. • Demonstrated expertise in TBM tunnelling (EPB, slurry, or hard rock) and cavern construction (SEM/NATM or drill & blast). • Experience in TBM breakthrough and decommissioning. • Prior experience in PMC, EPC, or client-side roles is preferred. • Advanced knowledge of TBM operations, recovery, and dismantling. • Strong understanding of underground logistics, heavy lifting operations, and ground control systems. • Familiarity with construction risk, contract interfaces, and temporary works processes. • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards for large-scale projects. • Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
